Children’s Mental Health Week 2024
We launched this year’s Children’s Mental Health week with an assembly led by our Pupil Well-being Champions. They shared the theme of the week, ‘Your Voice Matters’, by looking at Article 12 of the UN Convention on the Rights of a Child:
Article 12
Children have the right to an opinion and for it to be listened to and taken seriously.
Article 12 was discussed later in classes and all children then completed an activity to support their well-being. Children in Reception and Key Stage 1 thought about their proudest moments, drew and shared these with their friends. In Key Stage 2, children watched the WWF’s I Matter video and then mapped out their Dream Day, thinking about all the things that matter to them.
As parents and carers you play an important role in your child’s mental health. Place2be have released free resources including Top Tips for Families https://www.childrensmentalhealthweek.org.uk/families/
