Meet our Head Pupils 2023-24
Head Pupils: Emily Addis and Jessica Barrett
Deputy Head Pupils: Harry Bourne and Oscar McKeown
Many of our Year 6 children put themselves forward for the role of Head Pupil, presenting their manifestos to the class. A video of the final twelve candidates’ speeches were shared with children across the school before staff and pupils voted, putting the British Value of democracy into practice.
Pitmaston’s Pupil Leadership Team
At Pitmaston we develop pupils’ skills as leaders across the whole school in order to promote self-esteem and to enhance their personal and social development. We believe that all pupils should have an opportunity to lead, regardless of their ability and aptitude. Each class from Year one to Year six has voted for one child to be the representative for their class. These representatives attend meetings at least once a month and share the views of their peers.
So far children of Pitmaston have highlighted that lunch time play and extra-curricular clubs could be improved. Teams of children will be working on these projects throughout this term and we look forward to seeing the results of their hard work.
In addition to the Pupil Leadership team, each class throughout school have identified jobs and responsibilities to help the smooth running of their class. Each term, different children will be asked to take on a responsibility, so that by the end of the year every child at Pitmaston will have taken a leadership role.
