RE at Pitmaston

Our Religious Education curriculum covers many of the world’s religions through an equality driven framework. We aim to provide pupils with the knowledge, skills and understanding to appreciate religious beliefs around the world and that of human creativity, endeavour and exploration; celebrating different opinions. We ensure children have opportunities to explore, clarify and if necessary challenge their own and others’ values, attitudes, beliefs, rights and responsibilities in a safe, non-judgemental, nurturing environment. By embracing cultural and religious diversity through our personalised curriculum, we are ensuring that our children to become more informed reflective members of our society.

 

We follow Worcestershire’s agreed syllabus 2020-2025 that has been launched by RE today earlier this year. This provides us with a framework of lessons and objectives that works with Worcestershire’s

demographic and cultural climate. We provide a balanced curriculum covering different religions including Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism and Humanist views. The link for Worcestershire’s agreed syllabus can be found below. The underpinning principles behind the syllabus are:
